Acts 23: Division, a Plot, and a Promise
Paul stands before the council, a plot is exposed, and God promises he will testify in Rome.
Summary
Brought before the council, Paul perceives it is divided between Pharisees and Sadducees and raises the hope of the resurrection, sparking such an argument that the soldiers must rescue him. That night the Lord stands by Paul and encourages him, promising that he will testify in Rome just as he has in Jerusalem. When more than forty men form a plot to kill Paul, his nephew learns of it and warns the authorities. The commander responds by sending Paul under heavy guard to Governor Felix in Caesarea.
