The Book of Ruth
Ruth is a quiet story set in the dark and chaotic days of the judges, yet it shines with the steady light of covenant love. Through famine and loss, a grieving Naomi returns home empty, and a foreign daughter-in-law named Ruth refuses to leave her—pledging, “your people shall be my people, and your God my God.” In the fields of Bethlehem, the loyalty of Ruth meets the kindness of Boaz, a kinsman-redeemer who covers and redeems the vulnerable. The book shows how God's faithful love works through the small, hidden choices of ordinary people, turning bitterness into blessing and weaving an outsider into the family line that leads to King David and, at last, to Jesus, our great Redeemer.
