The Book of Hebrews
Hebrews is an urgent sermon written to weary believers tempted to drift back to the old and the familiar, and its single great argument is that Jesus is better. He is better than the prophets, better than the angels, better than Moses and Joshua, better than the Levitical priesthood, with a better covenant, a better sanctuary, and a better sacrifice. Because Christ is God's final word and our sympathetic high priest who has entered heaven itself, we are urged again and again to hold fast, to draw near with boldness, to run with endurance, and to fix our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith.
