The Book of Galatians

Galatians is Paul's fiery letter for the freedom of the gospel. Churches he had planted were being told that faith in Christ was not enough—that they must add the works of the law, beginning with circumcision, to truly belong to God. Paul answers with holy alarm: there is no other gospel. We are justified not by what we do but by Christ who loved us and gave himself for us, received through faith alone. In Christ we are no longer slaves but sons, no longer under the law but led by the Spirit, no longer bound but gloriously free. This letter points us again and again to the cross, where the curse was carried for us, and calls us to stand firm in the liberty Christ has won.
