The Book of Ephesians

Ephesians lifts our eyes to God's vast and ancient purpose: to gather up all things in heaven and on earth under one head, Christ. Paul shows how the Father chose us before the foundation of the world, how the Son redeemed us by his blood, and how the Spirit seals us as God's own possession—saving us by grace through faith, not by works, so that no one can boast. Out of that grace he forms a single new humanity, Jew and Gentile reconciled in one body, growing together as a holy temple and the bride of Christ. The second half of the letter turns this glorious doctrine into daily life, calling us to walk worthily in unity, purity, love, and Spirit-filled homes, and to stand firm in the whole armor of God against the powers of darkness.
